"Thank you so much for your talk - excellent feedback - all 'excellent' or 'v good' votes! I will be back to you for next year's talks, and I will be happy to recommend you." Brenda, Speaker's Secretary St Albans U3A
- Another stimulating talk that made me and my fellow gardeners think. Anne does not talk - she imparts knowledge and involves her audience. I asked for a talk on Roses but never thought she would go back to the age of the dinosaur. I have invited her back knowing that whatever topic I choose as speaker's secretary Anne will deliver - Ida, Hitchen Horticultural Society
- On Bulbs & Rhizomes - "The most frequent response to your talk was that it was fascinating and they had no idea how important those plants were. There were also three retired pharmacists in the audience who enjoyed it as well !" - Joe, Speakers Secretary
- "Thank you so much for your inspirational talk about your work – the audience were really impressed - and for helping people to recognise how they can use different tools to continue their own gardening if injury or infirmity strikes." Carole Wilcox - Cuffley Horticultural Society
- "Now don't go home without me booking another talk for next year" Elizabeth - Goffs Oak Horicultural Society
- "Many thanks for coming to give your very interesting talk to the Hertford National Trust on the ''Ancient Gardens Before The Common Era' last Monday. I know the members I spoke to thoroughly enjoyed it" - Diana
- "Anne's Wildlife talk was very interesting. I never realised how much we had lost and what is still at risk. I intend to use what I have learnt in my own garden to encourage the birds & bees." Speaker's Secretary Lea Valley U3A Garden Group
On behalf of the society I'd like to thank you for the very enjoyable and thought provoking talk on Gardening with Natives yesterday. We look forward to having you to speak for us again in the near future. (Wheathamsted Horticultural Society March 2024)
Your talk was excellent, informative and, I think, very helpful to us with all the good ideas for managing our gardens as we get older - and there were some excellent ideas. The talk was very well received as evidenced by the end of meeting gathering of our members to talk to you and to take a closer look at the examples of equipment that you brought (Hertfordshire Engineers - August 2025)
The New Year for Trees talk was so interesting I had no idea of the different properties of trees and their fruits. I am still trying to ‘digest’ it all.
I will definitely look at fruit differently now. Many thanks again Susan (January 2022)

- Just a quick note to thank you for a very informative and entertaining talk last night. You certainly inspired our members to go and visit Capel Manor, or to go there again, me included (October 2025)
Thank you Anne for coming and imparting your knowledge, several people have said how interesting your talk on Gold Frankinsence Myrrh & More was and your first remark that Bible GOLD was olive oil has really struck a cord with most of us. Obvious really.(Harpenden Ladies Probus December 2022)
- "Your talk was excellent, well illustrated and very well received." Rosie, Welwyn Garden Horticultural Society
- Gardeners are generous by nature and Anne is generous with her knowledge and her wit. Her presentation on Why Gardens is serious but filled with humour. My husband did not doze off - now that is saying something
Thank you very much for coming to speak to our U3A group today, and for helping us out of our dilemma of a cancelled speaker. It was a most unusual talk, and I think we all learned a lot about some familiar as well as some unusual plants. I shall certainly be viewing plants like sorrel and dandelion with new interest, and consider how they may be eaten. (Chess Valley U3A - April 2025)
- Just a note to thank you for your very enjoyable talk yesterday. Our ladies really enjoyed it and many of them that it inspired them to visit Capel Manor. I do hope that you will visit us again
